Notice: This blog post was originally going to be posted last Thursday as of when this blog post was posted, but I was unable to do so at that time due to difficulties.
Easter a.k.a Resurrection Sunday is an important holiday that is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Rather Christians choose to celebrate Easter or not is not a salvation issue, because Christians are not going to go to hell for celebrating Easter. Celebrating the holiday of Easter is a matter of conviction since that is a moral gray area. If you feel convicted against celebrating Easter, then you should not celebrate Easter, on the other hand, If you don’t feel convicted against celebrating Easter, then you can celebrate Easter to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says that in whatever we do, we should do it to the glory of God.
Personal Convictions
The essential doctrine of Christian Liberty is proven by Colossians 2:16-17, Matthew 15:11, Mark 7:18-19, Romans 6:14, Romans 14:13-14, Romans 14:5-6, Ephesians 2:15-16, and many other verses. Easter is entirely about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is why Easter is also called Resurrection Sunday. Rather Christians choose to celebrate Easter or not is a matter of conviction. We should not force our personal convictions upon others because it is legalistic to do so.
Celebrate
For those of you who do not feel convicted against celebrating Easter, you can celebrate Easter by spending time with your family, watching a movie about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, you could have game night. We should celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ every day, and we should celebrate Jesus Christ every day. Easter is always an exciting holiday to look forward to, and it is nice to spend time with our family.
The Gospel
Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. To get saved, all you have to do is to repent of your sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ, and works are not required for your salvation, since Ephesians 2:8-9 says that it is by grace that we’re saved through faith, and works are not required for your salvation. Repenting of your sins is not a work, since it does not require any work to repent of your sins. Since the word repent means a Change of mind.
Meaning Of The Word Repent
Repent of your sins means a change of mind towards sin, and you, therefore, turn from your sins. The antinomians refuse to accept this biblical fact and they falsely pass this off as a so-called “works-based salvation” when in reality, it is not a “works-based salvation”. Romans 6 makes it very clear that you cannot continue living in sin and still be saved and we cannot trample underfoot the blood of Jesus Christ. Jude 1:4 also warns against people who pervert the grace of God into a license to sin. Antinomianism a.k.a once saved always saved is a damnable heresy, and the repent of your sins doctrine is not a so-called “works-based salvation”. The repent of your sins doctrine is biblical, and the reason why we need to repent of your sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ for salvation is that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, and we cannot continue living in sin and still be saved since we cannot trample underfoot the blood of Jesus Christ. The grace of God clearly does not give you a license to sin, and antinomianism is a rebellious heresy.
Easter is a beautiful Holiday.
